Use the labels to separate similar bottles
In the example, Caged Essence bottles are caged containers, while Spiral Essence uses a curved flask. Keep each named variant in its own position.

Read family and variant together
Two bottles can share a color without sharing a shelf. Read the full placard from family to variant: Violet Prism Potion is not interchangeable with another violet bottle family, and Potion of Verdant Magic is not the same label as Verdant Prism Potion.
Finish one family row before moving sideways. That makes an empty position easier to interpret and reduces the chance that one wrong bottle blocks later auto-shelving.

Find an existing position
Hold the bottle and use Arcane Sight to reveal shelves where that same item has already been placed. Confirm the placard after following the highlight; the spell helps locate a match but does not replace the name check.
If the bottle is invisible, unreachable or still absent after a normal sweep, use Recover Lost Items from Pause, then search the returned pile by family and full variant name.
Use a three-part note for stubborn shelves: family, exact variant and shop. That is more reliable than remembering only color, and it gives you a precise target for Arcane Sight or the community lookup when the visual silhouette is shared.
